Grand Camp Wraps 93rd ANB/ANS Annual Convention
The 93rd ANB/ANS Annual Convention was Oct. 4-9,
in Juneau. The hosts were the Juneau Camp #2 and
Glacier Valley Camp #70 of the Alaska Native
Brotherhood/Alaska Native Sisterhood. The theme
for this convention was, "Teaching respect to
our youth through our families."
The following
officers were elected to serve the 2005-06
one-year term: Bradley J Fluetsch, CFA as ANB
grand president, Juneau; Raymond Sensmeier as
ANB grand first vice president, Yakutat; Pete
Martin Jr. as ANB grand second vice president,
Kake; Nathalie Williams as ANB grand secretary,
Juneau; Richard Rinehart as ANB grand treasurer,
Juneau; Mitchell Paul as ANB grand sergeant at
arms, Kake; Cecelia Tavoliero as ANS grand
president, Anchorage; Libby Watanabe as ANS
grand first vice president, Sitka; Carrie James
as ANS grand second vice president, Ketchikan;
Eleanore Jackson as ANS grand secretary, Kake;
Marietta Hopkins as ANS grand treasurer, Juneau;
and Dana Ruaro as ANS grand sergeant at arms,
Juneau.
Grand camp would like to thank the following
individuals for their service as Grand Camp
officers: ANB Grand President Dewey Skan,
Klawock; ANB Grand First Vice President Calvin
Wilson Jr., Kake; ANS Grand President Johanna
Dybdahl, Hoonah; ANS Grand Second Vice President
Della Cheney, Juneau; and ANS Grand Secretary
Sonya Smith, Hoonah.
As former grand presidents, Dewey Skan and
Johanna Dybdahl will now serve as life members
of the executive committee. Thank you to each of
you for all your hard work and commitment.
The ANB/ANS 94th Grand Convention will
convene
Oct. 3-7, 2006, in Hoonah. |
